The Look

I’m new to the whole wedding planning process. Yes, I have been a Bridesmaid before. Yes, I have been to many a wedding. Yes, I have watched virtually all of the available wedding shows on specialty television. While I often argue that those things make me more than qualified to have strong wedding opinions, I’m not married. I have not had to plan my own wedding.

Being a bridesmaid in my friend’s upcoming wedding though, I get to watch the wedding planning design process evolve from the very beginning. Being a backseat driver is exciting stuff. Since I have started this blog, I have been browsing around on the many wedding blogs out there. There are so many talented people in the wedding business – from planners, to photographers, to invitation designers, to pastry chefs, and the list goes on. It has been so much fun to look at the beautiful ideas.

Today, I discovered the artistic beauty that is INSPIRATION BOARDS! Writing this post was the only thing that broke me from browsing though more and more of those creative collages. Not only can you get ideas for color combinations, but some fun ways to inject color into your wedding.

And to make it even easier for the busy bride and bridesmaid, there’s a Flickr group dedicated to Wedding and Event Inspiration Boards. Here are a few of my favorites.

Vintage Yellow and Grey by Elizabeth Anne Designs

Check out some Inspiration Boards if your bride is still undecided on the colour theme and feel. Maybe you and the bridal party can create an Inspiration Board of your own. It’s a great tool.
